“Sugar” Rashad Evans Reigns Supreme Over Rampage Jackson At UFC 114!

The fight billed as the biggest grudge match in Ultimate Fighting Championship history was a technical battle – and that was decidedly the kind of fight Rashad Evans wanted.
Evans won a unanimous decision over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the main event of UFC 114 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, getting scores of 30-27 twice and 29-28 from the judges. Yahoo! Sports also had it 30-27 for Evans. The win gets him a shot at the UFC light heavyweight title against champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

I honestly thought he had Rampage dominated through out the fight, there was that incident in the third round when Rampage almost had him but Rashad was able to come to his senses. All in all one of the better fights I’ve seen recentley, it does suck that Rashad couldn’t finish but that might be able to set things up for a rematch. An honourable mention also goes out to Jason Brilz for getting robbed by the judges for his fight against Little Nog!

Nine-time UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes today was named the eighth and latest UFC Hall of Fame inductee.
After a brief presentation on his achievements, 36-year-old Hughes met UFC president Dana White on UFC Fan Expo 2010′s main stage at the Mandalay Bay Convetion Center to receive the commemorative award. He thanked fans for their support.
“To be honest, it’s you guys that pay that admission that write my check, so I’ve got to take my hat off to you guys,” Hughes (44-7 MMA, 17-5 UFC) said.

Well the man did his damn thing with the promotion so it comes as no surprise that they inducted him into the Hall of Fame. I’d just like to see some more of the un-sung heros get inducted like Don Frye, Pedro Rizzo, and the rest of the old school guys!

WTF!: Hedo Turkoglu Wants Out Of The Raptors!

Hedo Turkoglu may have told a Turkish TV station that he wants out of Toronto. Various Turkish-language blogs have translated the interview and the gist of it seems to be Turkoglu remains angry with the organization after it benched him after he sat out a game but allegedly was seen that same night at a Yorkville nightspot.
Translations make it seem like Turkoglu is trying to find a way to sever ties with the Raptors.
A buyout would be extremely difficult to work out, unless Turkoglu is willing to give back a substantial amount of money.
Score blogger J.E. Skeets had some Turkish friends break down the interview here.

Well it’s about fuckin time the truth came out from that Turkish pizza delivering bastard! We all new he signed with the Raptors for the money and not because it’s a “great city” and all that bullshit he was feeding us at his introductory presser. He’s outta his fuckin mind if he thinks he can get a buyout! I think the only way of dumping his contract would be to combine his with Calderon’s horrible contract and try to land Gilbert Arenas’ terrible contract from a desperate Wizards franchise. Whatever, I was against this trade from day one and I’m more than happy to say good ridance to that un-motivated waste of money!

Suns coach Alvin Gentry felt ill after eating lunch on Thursday and was caught throwing up along the sideline multiple times by television cameras.
Phoenix lost to Los Angeles 103-101 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
“I told them not to bring that trash can out to the bench area because I know every camera in the world would be on me if I threw up,” Gentry said. “I really was trying not to do it as much as I possibly could.”
Gentry had a grilled artichoke and dip at a downtown L.A. restaurant on Thursday afternoon.
“They did?” he asked when told that television cameras captured him throwing up on the sideline. “Oh, well, just tell everyone that it was Kobe Bryant making me sick.”

I guess the pure awesomeness of Kobe will do that to you, or it might of been the grilled artichoke.

Man I really thought Pheonix was gonna steal this one with Artest’s horrible shot selection, but his hustle and effort came through and gave the Lake Show the W and now a 3-2 lead in the series. I feel bad for Pheonix, they had a real good shot at coming away with this one!
