Doc Rivers says he’s returning to coach the Boston Celtics for a seventh season.

“I’m coming back,” he said in a text message, The Boston Globe reported. “I want another crack at it with this group.”

Rivers, who guided the Celtics to the 2010 NBA Finals and led the franchise to its 17th NBA championship in 2008, has one more year remaining on his contract.

I honestly expected him to call it quits. I guess he truly believes the Big 3 Big 4 has what it takes for another Finals appearance. Next on Boston’s agenda would be to retain Paul Pierce.

Larry King, who has interviewed statesmen and stars from a prime-time perch at CNN for 25 years but has seen his ratings sag recently, said Tuesday that he will step down this fall from his nightly show.

“It’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders,” King said in a message sent to fans via Twitter.

King said he will do occasional specials for CNN. He reached his 25-year anniversary this month and takes pride in a Guinness Book of World Records citation for hosting the longest-running show on the same network in the same time slot.

Sources said the Raptors will try to acquire draft picks and young players in return for Chris Bosh.

They would likely ask for Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers in any deal with the Miami Heat.

If Bosh were to go to the Chicago Bulls, the Raptors are interested in Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah, though Noah could prove impossible to pry from Chicago.

If Bosh settles on the Knicks, the Raptors would try to engage in a double sign-and-trade that sends Knicks forward David Lee to Toronto.

Sources called a potential sign-and-trade with the Los Angeles Lakers “doubtful.”

Honestly the best choice for the Raps would be the double sign & trade scenario with New York. David Lee is a solid power foward who definitley earned that All Star spot. Lets hope Colangelo can work some magic!

On a side note, if Colangelo does work a deal with the Heat and we receive Michael Beasley, I will start boy cotting the Raptors!

Pierce’s agent, Jeff Schwartz, told ESPN.com that the All-Star forward has notified the Boston Celtics that he will opt out of the final year of his contract before Wednesday’s deadline to do so, which will make Pierce an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

“Pierce is opting out” said Schwartz in a text message to ESPN.com.

By opting out, Pierce will forfeit next season’s $21.5 million salary but becomes eligible to sign a new four-year deal with the Celtics worth a maximum of $96 million and can receive four-year offers from other teams worth a maximum $93 million.

One-time Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen dissolved in tears Monday and gasped as a Cook County jury awarded him a $2 million verdict in a jet deal that went south.

Pippen had sued two attorneys at the Chicago law firm Pedersen & Houpt for malpractice, alleging they failed to closely monitor his purchase of the jet, which was grounded only months after the 2002 purchase.

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are now officially husband and wife.

The couple got married on June 24, his rep confirms to Usmagazine.com. Green’s son, Kassius, 8, was present at the ceremony.

TMZ.com first reported the couple tied the knot at the Four Seasons on the Big Island of Hawaii.
