The Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement in principle with Masai Ujiri to become the team’s general manager, two sources close to the situation told FanHouse.
Barring any late and unlikely snags in the process, the hiring of the Toronto assistant general manager is expected to be finalized on Thursday and Ujiri, who could not be reached for comment, will return to the place where he spent four of his eight seasons in the NBA.
Congrats to Masai for getting the job! It’s gonna be tough for a rookie GM to convince Melo to stay with the Nuggets but I’m sure Masai will try his best. I wonder who Colangelo will replace him with now?

The Chicago Bulls will unveil a statue of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen that will be displayed in the United Center at some point during the season.
“Not only is Scottie Pippen one of the greatest players to ever wear a Bulls uniform, but he’s among the best players in history of the league to play the game,” Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement. “He had a tremendous impact in bringing six world championships to Chicago and there is no better way to pay tribute to him than with a permanent statue that honors his inspirational career.”
Pippen was elected to the Hall of Fame on Aug. 13. He won six NBA titles with the Bulls, was named one of the 50 greatest players and made seven All-Star teams.
Good for Pip! It was about time he was inducted into the Hall of Fame so it should only be appropriate that they honour him with a statue along side His Airness!

Spain point guard Jose Calderon will miss the basketball world championships after hurting his leg in an exhibition against the United States.
Tests Monday revealed the Toronto Raptors player tore a muscle in his left leg in Sunday’s 86-85 loss. Calderon had headed to the locker room late in the game. He went scoreless with three assists.
The Spanish federation says Calderon needs four weeks to recover.
The 28-year-old was part of Spain’s 2006 world champion team and won Olympic silver two years ago in Beijing.
Sucks for Jose, dude really wanted to go out there and represent his country. I just hope he’ll be ready for training camp. Now its time for Rubio to shine!

Aside from the fact that this woman is gorgeous, she is also a very talented singer. Something about the pin-up look that just drives me crazy, plus she’s a local girl!
