Tony Parker has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the Spurs.

Parker was eligible to become a free agent as a member of the 2011 class.

“I didn’t mind playing through the year,” Parker told the Express-News on Saturday. “But it’s great to have security, and not go through a whole season worried if I get hurt or if I play bad. Now I can just focus on the team and hopefully have a great season and win a lot of games.”

Smart move by the Spurs! With the Melo frenzy at a fever pitch, Parker’s name hasn’t been in the headlines for a while, but I’m pretty sure Donnie Walsh is cringing right now becasue he lost out on his Chris Paul backup plan.

Boston Celtics guard Delonte West and teammate Von Wafer were involved in a physical altercation on Friday, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge confirmed to multiple media outlets.

The two players were guarding each other in a game of three-on-three when West repeatedly fouled Wafer, according to Hoopsworld.com. Wafer headed to the locker room but was followed by West, who threw the first punch and the two wrestled, according to the website.

The Celtics are gathering information on the situation, but sources told Hoopsworld that they are considering releasing West based on this and other incidents with teammates.

Damn I think its about time Delonte packs it up and head over to Europe and go play ball over there. This guy is literally poision in the locker room, if you can’t get your act right especially on a team like the Celtics, then theres really no hope for you.

Amare Didn’t See A Championship In Phoenix’s Future

“From my standpoint it’s longevity and being able to build a team for a championship-caliber team,” Stoudemire said. “That was my goal in Phoenix.”

“I wanted to make sure that we’re looking forward to the future and being able to bring in other star players to help win a championship,” Stoudemire added. “I felt that wasn’t going to happen in that situation. I wanted to go to a team willing to build a championship quality team.”

I hate to admit it, but STAT does have a point with this one.  I can’t help but think about how this franchise would look like if Steve Kerr didn’t cut & ran, and alos if ownership was willing to spend on building a championship caliber team.

Stuckey To Hit The Free Agent Market?

Rodney Stuckey will not sign a contract extension with the Pistons before the Nov. 1st deadline, according to sources.

Among other factors, Stuckey’s situation is complicated by an ownership change in Detroit,

Can’t really blame the guy for keeping his options open, especially after the disastorus moves Joe Dumars has made over the past few years.  Even though the NBA season has just started, I can see him being a key addition to a few teams next year.

The Heat Aren’t Bending Over Backwards For Lebron

Sources say trainer Mike Mancias and former Cavs liaison Randy Mims, who followed LeBron James from Cleveland to Miami, aren’t allowed to fly on the Heat’s team jet to away games.

Neither was hired by the Heat.

The willingness of teams to accommodate people close to James was a point of discussion during his free agency.

Good to see ol’ man Riley keeping Lebron on a short leash down in South Beach.  The only question now is how long will it take for Lebron to throw a temper tantrum with his new team.

Dana White’s UFC Set To Absorb WEC In 2011

UFC president Dana White on Thursday made his major announcement, revealing that the promotion is not yet implementing a UFC Network, but is folding the WEC into the UFC.

“There is no more WEC, those weight classes are rolling into the UFC,” said White. “Those fighters will remain in the UFC.”

And that means all the fighters in the WEC and then some. White confirmed that he intends to fold the promotion’s entire roster into the UFC and that there is enough worldwide demand to continue signing even more fighters than that.

This is great news for MMA fans! Even though I think he’s past his prime, I would love to see Urijah Faber in the UFC’s octogon. Plus with the UFC absorbing their sister promotion brings a wealth of talent to the UFC. Now all thats left for Dana would be to buy out Strikeforce & Dream, and then he will oficially be the Godfather of MMA!

Being On TV Is Chris Bosh’s Main Priority

“Really, it’s all about being on TV at the end of the day,” Bosh said. “Seriously. A guy can average 20 (points) and 10 (rebounds), and nobody really cares. If you don’t see it (on U.S. national TV), then it doesn’t really happen.”

via: RealGM

This guy reallly can’t be serious! Of all the things he has done this off season, this has to be the nail in the coffin for Toronto fans to hate Chris Bosh Rupaul more than ever.  First he comes out and says that he has fun playing with fans emotions during fre agency, He then went on to defend himself when Colangelo claimed he mentally “checked out” towards the end of the season. If that wasn’t enough, he bashed Toronto for the lack of exposure he was getting since being a spopkesperson for chocolate milk is so important to him. He went on to say that he doesn’t believe in loyalty. And now we arrive to this latest CB debacle, claiming the main reason he left the Raps was not to chase a ring, not to run the show like he did in Toronto, but only to get more television exposure. Pathetic CB….. asbolutley phatetic……

NBA Bans Wearing Headbands Upside Down

NBA spokesman confirms that uniform rules this year prohibit players (including @RajonRondo) from wearing their headbands upside down.

via: Twitter

Damn all hell has broken loose! David Stern and his corporate cronies are still on their quest of taking individuality from the NBA. Hopefully this won’t stick like the “Stan Van Gundy Rule“  I wonder if Rondo feels singled out with this rule.
